Last year CancerCare Manitoba Foundation was humbled to receive a transformational gift of $27 million from the Paul Albrechtsen Foundation.
This is the largest philanthropic donation in support of cancer care in the history of Manitoba and will ensure CancerCare Manitoba remains at the forefront of cancer research and patient care.
The gift will support four key areas:
- the renewal of research lab facilities
- new single-cell technology that is unique in Canada
- increased capacity for genomic sequencing to advance personalized medicine
- a new dedicated space for the Centre for Hope in Brandon
The future has truly changed for Manitobans affected by a cancer diagnosis. We are grateful to the Paul Albrechtsen Foundation for this donation and honouring Paul’s commitment to making this province better for all Manitobans.
- Scott Albrechtsen, President of Paul Albrechtsen Foundation
- Patti Smith, President & CEO of CancerCare Manitoba Foundation
- Dr. Sri Navaratnam, President & CEO of CancerCare Manitoba.
