KidFish Ice Fishing Derby
EVENT CHANGE
An unseasonably warm February has forced event organizers to make alternate plans. Due to ice conditions and out of an abundance of caution, the KidFish Ice Derby is moving off the ice.
The event planned for Sunday, February 18 from 12 pm – 2 pm will be held at the Selkirk Rec Centre, 180 Easton Dr Selkirk, MB. All tickets purchased will be honoured and a range of activities and raffles will still move forward.
Everyone who has purchased tickets will be eligible for the draws of top 10 fishing prizes and top five kid prizes, including the grand prize of $5,000. There will be many extra prize draws as well. Those with kids’ tickets must attend to receive their free rods and reels, but ticket holders do not need to be in attendance to win draw prizes.
Activities will include kids’ games and pork on a bun from Danny’s Whole Hog.
Prize tickets will be available online or at the door. Tickets purchased online will be available at the door for pick up. Online sales close Saturday, February 17 at 12 pm.
All money raised will be donated to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation and Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
Be a part of A Gold-Plated Evening – a memorable fundraising event. This year’s A Gold-Plated Evening, presented by the Paul Albrechtsen Foundation, will be the first time we gather in person since 2018 to raise critical funds to support the 3,500 men in Manitoba who will receive a cancer diagnosis this year.
The evening will feature a conversation facilitated by the inimitable Greg Bieber, together with renowned CancerCare Manitoba oncologist, Dr. Ralph Wong, and CancerCare Manitoba patient Matt Bell, miracle cancer “thriver” and local business entrepreneur. Together they will explore the evolving cancer landscape, importance of advancements in research and treatments, and the progress and the hope possible for Manitoba men with cancer.
Passionate researchers and clinicians at CancerCare Manitoba persist in their hard work to improve outcomes and lives and you can help them in their efforts. Manitobans are counting on us to be part of the solution and we welcome the opportunity to share A Gold-Plated Evening with you, where together you can help support the ultimate goal – finding a cure.
Your investment will change the lives of men and their families facing this disease today, and will help prevent cancer for future generations. Know that all funds raised through your support of this hallmark event stay right here in Manitoba.
